    • What is Jopro Exactly?

      Jopro is a science-backed writing and journaling platform. We help you find and complete writing exercises for your wellbeing and productivity. We offer a guided online editor for each exercise. Each exercise is grouped into a notebook, so you can see your progress over time. You can learn more about Jopro by visiting our about page, however the best way is to try it out!

    • What does science-backed mean?

      We devise all our exercises from recommendations peer reviewed scientific articles. We provide references and details for each of the exercises in our research section. We have gone through hundreds of articles to find the best flow for each exercise. Jopro exercises are not the direct study of clinical research, but they are informed by similar exercises. Any results highlighted throughout the site are indicative of the effectiveness of the exercise, not Jopro itself.

    • Why do you simplify the results of the studies you reference?

      The intent of the simplification is to make the results more accessible and enable people to self select the exercise that will point them in the right direction. There is research that shows that belief about efficacy is important for the outcome of the exercise in some cases (refer to "What Is the Optimal Way to Deliver a Positive Activity Intervention? The Case of Writing About One’s Best Possible Selves"). We strive to be as accurate as possible, but study outcomes often have a wide variance at the individual level that is not captured in average values.

    • How does Jopro help me choose the right exercise?

      We provide an (simple) interactive wizard that guides you to an exercise based on your goals. We are working on a more comprehensive exercise recommendation system. The best way to find the right exercise is to explore the exercise library and see what appeals to you and aligns to your goals. The best exercise is the one you will actually use.

    • How private and secure is my writing?

      We take privacy extremely seriously. You can choose to keep your writing completely local to your device, use offline worksheets for select exercises, or opt for secure cloud storage with "quantum-resistant" AES-256-GCM encryption. You have full control over AI features and can opt out at any time. We're always transparent about how your data is used. We use Auth0 for authentication and Stripe for payments, so that we don't directly manage your passwords or payment information in our database.

    • What kind of support do you offer?

      We provide multiple layers of support: detailed video guides for exercises, AI assistance if you get stuck (optional), and direct access to our customer support team who can help explain anything you need. We also maintain a network of mental health resources if you need additional support.
